Man accused of killing child indicted

Matthew Holbrook, the Crisfield man who was charged in early August for the death of his six-week old daughter has now been indicted.

Court documents show Holbrook is facing nine charges in Circuit Court, including murder in the second degree and child abuse in the first degree resulting in death.

According to charging documents previously obtained by 47 ABC, Holbrook admitted to police that he had struck his daughter twice in the head.

Once with a game controller a few weeks prior to her death and then again with a water bottle on the day of her death.

An autopsy from the medical examiner’s office revealed the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, resulting in hemorrhaging to the brain.

Holbrook’s trial is set to start in December in Somerset County.
