Man arrested for assault of a female, theft of her phone

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says Alexis G. Valverde, 33, of Salisbury, was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly assaulted a female at his residence.

Police say the complainant told responding deputies that Valverde woke her up, punched her in the head and threw her on the floor before taking her cell phone and leaving the residence.

A Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly transported Valverde to Central booking, where he was later detained at the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Valverde has been charged with second degree Assault, and theft less than $100.00.
