DHSS looking for donors for Adopt-A-Family holiday program to provide gifts
As we approach the holidays, Delaware's Department of Health and Social Services is trying to get into the spirit.
Their Adopt-A-Family holiday program is currently seeking donors.
The program matches donors to a senior, an individual with a disability, or a child.
If you're interested in adopting a senior, you will be matched with someone living in a nursing home and a wish list will be provided.
If you're paired with a child, they recommend a minimum gift card of $100 to purchase holiday gifts.
Last year, this program helped about 1,900 Delawareans.
If you want to participate, the deadline is December 8th and all gift cards and gifts must be in the Adopt-A-Family office by December 15th.
