Delmar Field Hockey Shutout Pocomoke

The Delmar field hockey team defeated Pocomoke 3-0 Saturday in a game that was called early do to thunder. The win improves the Wildcats to 2-0 while the loss drops the Warriors to 2-2.
The teams would be scoreless half way through the first half time the Wildcats finally broke through. Ashley Arter would score to put Delmar out in front, before Paige Twilley-Webster would find the back of the cage on a breakaway to give Delmar a 2-0 lead at the half. The Warriors then turned up their offensive pressure, and got several good scoring opportunities to open the 2nd period. Makenzie Mitchell rifled in a shot from the left side that deflected off a defender and in, but was ruled no goal because the player was not inside the box. Delmar would then put the game away as Peyton Kemp would score. Rain would come in shortly after that and the game would be called with 20:46 remaining in the second half.
