North Caroline Remains Undefeated In A Big Win Over Kent Island
The undefeated North Carolina Bulldogs took the field in Stevensville against the Kent Island Buccaneers.
North Carolina took a 14 – 7 lead after one quarter of play and they continued to add onto that lead in the second quarter after David Bailey carried the rock into the end zone to take a 21-7 lead heading into half. The Bulldogs had a chance to make it 28- 7 going to the halftime, but it was the Buccaneers who came up with a huge defensive stop to keep it a two possession game.
This game would be a tale of two halves as the Buccaneers took things over in the second half scoring 14 points to even out the game at 21 each. Kent Island with score on a QB keeper from Luke Fromert and they would score again at the beginning of the fourth quarter by with a run into the end zone by J.D. DiPietro to tie things up, but North Caroline continued to make plays on defense.
The Bulldogs managed to hold off the Buccaneers to ensure that the game would stay tied and late in the fourth quarter – Anton Black – caught a pass from Cameron Byrd that would help the Bulldogs take a 28 – 21 lead. Kent Island would get the ball back with 25 seconds on the clock and had a huge game off the return to put themselves to the Bulldogs the 30 yard line, but again North Carolina’s defense stepped up huge. With 15 seconds remaining in the game, Tay Potts, intercepted a Kent Island pass to secure the victory for North Caroline.
The Bulldogs take a 3-0 start on the season so far and proved once again why they are the top team in the Bayside as they take this one over the Buccaneers 28 – 21 the final.
