Man arrested for burglaries of Lewes restaurant

Police have arrested a man in connection with burglaries which occurred at Surf Bagel.
30-year-old Jermaine Walker was arrested on Saturday, after police say shop officials from Surf Bagel Restaurant reported a burglary on Friday afternoon.
According to police reports, the victim advised the exterior storage refrigerator was broken into and several boxes of frozen food valued at over $600.00 had been removed.
An investigation found the suspect was seen walking from a residential area with burglar tools towards the back of the Surf Bagel Restaurant on Thursday night. The reportedly suspect gained access to the exterior storage refrigerator behind Surf Bagel by using the burglar tools to cut off the metal latch. We’re told he entered the refrigerator and left with multiple boxes of frozen food and walked back toward the residential area behind the business.
Police say that same night, Walker returned and entered the refrigerator for the second time and stole more frozen boxes and bags of food.
Several hours later at 12:30 a.m. Friday, police say the suspect allegedly returned for the third time to steal additional boxes of food before fleeing.
Maker faces two counts of Burglary 3rd degree, two counts of Theft, one count of Possession of Burglar Tools and one count of Criminal Mischief.
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $9,000.00 secured bond.
