Ocean City officials address severe flooding from heavy storms

While Delmarva is expected to be safe from hurricane Joaquin, it’s the flooding caused by the heavy rain that ocean city officials are most concerned with. The flooding in Ocean City has cars and people looking for alternate ways to move around.
OC Mayor, Rick Meehan says,”Right now because it’s the hide tides that we are dealing with there is no were for the water to go. That water is just flowing back in from the back bays and covering the streets and some of the properties in those areas and all we could do is wait for that ride to recede.”
Ocean city has closed their beaches and are telling people to stay off until further notice. Police has already cut access to certain areas of the city because of several inches of flooding in the low lying area. One Ocean City visitor is concerned about potential damage to his property during his weekend stay.
Colby Faborin, says, “I’m kind of concerned about the flooding with the lower cars.”
Although it’s not expected to come near Delmarva, officials with Ocean City say emergency officials are continuing to monitor Hurricane Joaquin.
