Oct. 6 – Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and “Purple Purse” is a social media fund raising campaign to help fund this initiative.

It runs during the month of October. Purple is the color of domestic violence and a purse is a woman’s symbol of power. In her purse a woman carries her car keys, wallet, credit cards, cash, cell phone, all the symbols of power and self-control. The money we earn during this campaign will help victims of domestic violence once again become self-sustaining members of society.
