Neighbors shocked over Wicomico County kidnapping

Phillip James Timmons is sitting behind bars in Virginia after reportedly kidnapping his ex-girlfriend from her home.

It happened on Powellville Road. 47 ABC went to see if anyone was home. There was no answer. According to police, the victim called 911saying her ex-boyfriend had broken in and was taking her.

When authorities arrived, no one was there. They found a Glock Handgun Box in the victim’s bedroom and .45 ammunition on the floor. The firearm was missing.

However, authorities did find the victim’s wallet, cell phone and car. According to reports,Timmons was trying to take her across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel with two surf boards in the back of his truck.

Due to wind restrictions, the boards had to be removed by the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Authority Road Crew in a work van.

Once on the other side of the bridge, Timmons began loading the boards back on his truck, that’s when victim jumped in the drivers seat and made a break for it. She drove towards the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Police.

47 ABC got a hold of his arrest documents Tuesday. Timmons is facing charges for possessing a firearm in commission of a felony and violating of a protective order, just to name a few.

According to Maryland Case Search, Timmons and the alleged victim have a history. He was accused of violating a protective order in the past.  He was previously found guilty of assault charges earlier in 2015. However, it’s unclear if it’s related to this particular woman.

Court documents show that Timmons lives in a home in Delmar. His neighbors say he’s been there for about 3 months and are stunned to hear about the arrest

Matthew Lewis says, “It’s pretty shocking.”  Scott Adkins says, “I’ve seen her up here a couple of times. Yeah it’s really freaked out.”
