Small business owner hopes to bid on projects to work with MD universities

The Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs  made a trip to the Eastern Shore on Wednesday  to have small local businesses participate in their Ready, Set, Grow! outreach event.

One local small business owner attended the information session and says she learned about different ways to bring more projects to her business. Diana Merritt owns a printing business in Salisbury and has 4 full time employees and is interested in growing her business.

“Right here locally we’ve got two great universities so I’m looking forward to putting in some bids for their printing needs.” said Merritt.

Merritt says she just hired a part time employee so she has more time to look and bid for contracts. She believes the state contracts can not only bring more business, but also employment opportunities.
