Georgetown brings “Hill Valley” to life

Great Scott! If you were in downtown Georgetown Wednesday evening, you made have heard that phrase a few times.

Hundreds of people filled the town, who officially renamed itself “Hill Valley” for the day. It was all in honor of the world famous trilogy Back to the Future.

In the second film, Doc Brown and Marty McFly traveled from the year 1985 to October 21st 2015.

In celebration, officials in Georgetown had DeLoreans on site. There was also a full reenactment of the film’s classic scene when the lightening strikes the clock tower and energizes Doc’s Delorean. It ultimately ends up sending him and Marty into the future.

Lou Feltz says, “It was awesome seeing Doc and Marty and just recreating the thing in the whole movie. It was just outstanding.”

Dominick Reed goes on, “I liked how it was glowing and it was just so realistic.”

Town officials accepted donations to repair Georgetown’s clock tower.  It’s a rather unique coincidence because the broken clock tower in the fictional town of Hill Valley is a central theme in all three films.
