Delmar Field Hockey Claims Henlopen South Title

The Delmar field hockey team topped Woodbridge 3-1 Thursday night to claim the Henlopen South title. The win improves the Wildcats to 12-0-1 on the year, while the loss drops the Blue Raiders to 7-4 on the year.
The ‘Cats would strike first at the midway point of the first half when Peyton Kemp would find Caitlyn Wink off a corner, and she would fire it home for the score. Shortly after that, their lead would double after Sasha Adams would come up with a score. Then just before half, Delmar would push their lead to 3-0 after Paige Twilley-Webster would come up with a rebound in front of the cage, and go 5-hole on the finish for the score. The Blue Raiders defense would step up in the second half, led by Altia Anderson. Woodbridge would then get on the board after Brady Keeler rifled in a shot on a break away from just inside the circle. Delmar’s defense would close the door from there though for the win.
Delmar returns to action on Tuesday when they take on Seaford, while Woodbridge host Smyrna on Tuesday.
