Slow start, fast finish for North Caroline over Bennett

The North Caroline Bulldogs moved to 8-0 on the season, defeating James M. Bennett 35-7 at Wicomico County Stadium in Salisbury.

After a scoreless first quarter, North Caroline stood up on fourth and goal, stopping Bennett at the five yard line. One play later, Bulldogs running back Kenny Jackson took a handoff 95-yards the other way to the endzone. Rodney Thomas would score the next two touchdowns for North Caroline, bringing them to a 21-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Bennett’s Ty King would block a punt and dive on it for a touchdown, cutting the Bulldogs lead to 21-7. North Caroline would respond with two rushing touchdowns between the third and fourth quarters from Thomas and David Bailey.

North Caroline (8-0) goes on for a big showdown next weekend at Queen Anne’s, while Bennett (5-3) visits Decatur.
