Easton Girls Soccer Prevail
The Easton Warriors took the field at home taking on North Caroline for the state tournament while they were looking to get a win despite having a very injured team.
This was a great matchup between the fourth and fifth seeds in the state tournament bracket, but one team had to walk away victorious. Throughout the first half, Easton look to be dominating the game, but they could not put away their chances, which included a penalty kick, and because of that, at halftime, the game was scoreless.
Second half, the Warriors decided it was time to get one in the back of the net, when junior Ginger Louis placed the perfectly, far-post side-net from a free kick outside the 18 yard box to take the 1-0 lead over the Bulldogs. North Caroline would not give up, in fact, they would fight until the last minute of the game hammering the ball at the net, but Eastons goalkeeper Miranda Otwell had quite the game for herself shutting out the Bulldogs.
Eason advances to the next round of the state tournament with their win over North Caroline1-0 – the Warriors will face Queen Anne’s.
