Easton FH Upsets Parkside To Advance

The Easton field hockey team traveled to Salisbury to take on Parkside in the 1st round of the state tournament and pulled out a 3-2 double overtime win. The win advance the Warriors to the regional semifinals where they will travel to play against Kent Island.
Easton would strike first just over 5 minutes into the game when Stephanie Miller would take a pass from Tatum Crouch and fire it home. The lead would hold til the Rams were able to tie it up at the midway point of the first half. Makenzie Shreeves would come up with a loose ball in front of the cage and fire it home. It looked like the teams would head to halftime in a deadlock, but Easton was able to add one more goal late in the half. They would earn a corner, and there, Lexi McDaniel would get the ball at the far post, and was able to beat the keeper. The Rams would again fight back though and tie the match up in the second half and we would head to overtime. There the Warriors would control the pace, earning several corners. They couldn’t put any of them in though thanks to several great saves from Tori Barmoy. They would head to a second overtime, and there the defense would step up again for the Rams. With under 2 minutes to play, the Warriors would earn another corner. The ball would work it’s way into the circle, where McDaniel would provide the heroics with the game winner.
