MSP: Pedestrian seriously injured in Salisbury crash

Maryland State Police say, they are investigating a serious crash in Salisbury that left a Virginia man with possible life threatening injuries.
According to reports, at about 7:00 PM on Monday troopers responded to Old City Road and Archie Dennis Road. Their investigation revealed, 40-year-old Karen Lanham of Salisbury was driving a Ford Taurus on Old Ocean City Road when for unknown reasons, it lost control and left the roadway. After leaving the roadway the Ford reportedly hit 53-year-old Michael Downing of New Church, Virginia and then hit a utility pole.
Downing and the passenger of the Ford, 65-year-old Joan Rickards of Salisbury, was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the collision. Downing was reportedly determined to have serious and possible life threatening injuries and was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma, for further treatment.
The Parsonburg Fire Department allegedly assisted Troopers at the scene, and Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack is continuing the investigating in the crash.
The intersection of Old City Road and Archie Dennis Road was closed for about two hours as officials cleared the scene.
