Parkside Girls Soccer Roll Kent Island To Open States

The Parkside girls soccer team topped Kent Island 5-0 Tuesday night in the state tournament behind 3 goals from Blair Vilov. With the win, the Rams advance to face Queen Anne’s on November 5th at 6pm.

Parkside would jump out to a quick 1-0 lead just minutes into the game after Vilov would come up with a steal in the box, and beat the keeper far post for the score. Shortly after that, Vilov would add her second score of the afternoon after she would take a cross and finish near post on the left side. The Rams then stretched their lead to 3-0 after Conor O’Malley would get a break away up the left side, and fire a strike home near post.  Parkside continued to attack but weren’t able to put anymore in as the Bucs defense would settle in, led by their keeper Madi Banks.

The Rams would come out firing to open up the second half though. Just over a minute into the action, and Parkside would find the back of the net again, this time from Julie Venere. Then at the midway point of the half, Vilov would add the final score of the game.
