UPDATE: Victim identified in Georgetown shooting

Police are investigating a shooting that happened at the Dunbarton Oaks Apartment complex.

The incident happened around 10:00 p.m. Saturday. Police say they responded to the complex for a report of shots fired.

When police arrived, they reportedly discovered 24-year-old Deandre Abbott of Temperanceville, Virginia had suffered multiple gunshots. Abbott was first transported to Beebe Medical Center but has since been transferred to John Hopkins Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore, Maryland. He is currently listed in critical condition.

The unknown suspect fled the area before police arrived, according to Lieutenant Lawrence Grose of the Georgetown Police Department.
