Jamar Hickman, 26

Prosecutors in Accomack County, Va., say Jamar Hickman, 26, was convicted of First Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony in court on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015.

Hickman was charged in the murder of James Wyatt, which occurred on Daugherty Road in Tasley, Va., in July 2013.

The shooting reportedly stemmed from a fight in which the victim, the suspect, and a number of other people were apparently involved.

Hickman also reportedly fled from the area after the incident, and was taken into custody in Salisbury, Md., two days after the fact.

No word yet on a sentencing date for Hickman.
