Connections’ social enterprise program moving to Harrington

Connections Community Support Programs owns an entire shopping center in Harrington.

It’s serving as the home to their new withdraw management center, outpatient center for recovering addicts, and in the next several months their social enterprise program will be moving to the same location.

Right now the program is based at the Boys and Girls Club in Seaford. It’s for people who were formerly incarcerated or homeless.

They’re hired as workers through Food Lion and serve several clients of the connections community support programs as food service professionals.

Once they move, one of their newest clients will be the patients at the connections withdrawal center.

Adam Taylor, the public information officer for Connections Community Support Programs says, “We have several contracts with a lot of schools and non- profits down state. They become employable Food Lion employees with us for a couple years. After that time, they go into the private sector as good service employees. However, they’re going to move here and one of the clients is going to be us and they’re going to be providing food for people in the detox.”

The Connections Withdrawal Management Center officially opened its doors on Monday.
