Volunteer applications open for SBY National Folk Festival

SALISBURY, Md.- The city of Salisbury opened up volunteer shifts Wednesday for the National Folk Festival coming in September.

Caroline O’Hare, the local manager for the festival, said this year they need about 600 volunteers.

In past years, they needed more, but for this year’s festival they scaled down due to the pandemic.

O’Hare said many people have already signed up to help and she said that’s a great feeling since the festival couldn’t happen without their support.

“The volunteers are the backbone of the festival, they allow the festival to be free for all that wish to attend and it also brings the community together and allows them to really be a part of this festival rather than just being spectators,” O’Hare said.

The Festival will happen on September 10th, 11th, and 12th.
