Sussex inmate back in custody after escaping

1280 Sadler

FELTON, Del. – Police say a man who escaped from prison on Wednesday is back in custody.

Just before 3 p.m., Felton Police responded to the 63000 block of Canterbury Road in Felton for a report of an escaped inmate. It was learned that 21-year-old Brian Sadler was an inmate at the Sussex Community Corrections Center who “walked away” from a work detail earlier in the day near Milford Harrington Highway. An off-duty Milton Police officer reportedly identified the escapee as he ran across the road in front of him in a fully marked Milton PD police cruiser.

Sadler immediately fled, leading police on a short pursuit before surrendering. He was taken back into custody and charged with escape after conviction.
