One injured in shooting on West Main Street in Salisbury

Police in Salisbury say they are investigating a shooting, that left one injured.
Salisbury Police say on Thursday night around 11:20 PM, Officers responded to West Main Street at Mitchell Road, for reports of shots fired. Once on scene, Police say they didn’t weren’t immediately able to find the source of the gunshots, or even evidence that shots had been fired.
According to the report, shortly after the call, Peninsula Regional Medical Center reported that they had an individual who was being treated for a single gunshot wound to the head. Police say their investigation revealed that the victim, who had been brought to the hospital by an unidentified driver, had been walking on West Main Street, when he was shot. The unidentified suspect reportedly walked up behind the victim, and fired one gunshot striking them in the head.
Police say the suspect, who is described as a male, standing 6′ 1″ tall, with a thin build, wearing a gray knit hat, then fled on foot towards Route 50. The victim remains at PRMC, where he is being treated for his serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
