Polytech’s Season Ends In State Quarterfinals

The Polytech field hockey team saw their season come to an end Saturday when they were upset in the quarterfinals of the state tournament 3-2 to Tower Hill. The Panthers finish the season with a 12-2 record.

The Hillers would jump out to a 1-0 lead after Pilson was able to score with under 7 minutes to go in the first half. Tower Hill then pushed their lead to 2-0 after Walsh was put one in. The lead would hold through most the second half, til finally the home team got going. Lacy Bayley would come up with a loose ball in front of the cage and fire it in for the score. But less than a minute later, Tower Hill would answer with a score of their own to push their lead to 3-1. Polytech continued to battle, as Taylor Johnson would send home a pass from Ali McKay at the far post to get her team again back within one. Time would run out though as the Hillers would move on to the state semifinals.
