One arrested on drug and weapon charges after traffic stop in Dover

A traffic stop in Dover, reportedly lead to the discovery of a handgun, and heroin, leading to the arrest of a Dover man.
Dover Police say on Monday morning, around 10:00 AM, Street Crimes Unit and Probation and Parole noticed 20-year-old Dahppy Brewah driving in the area of Whiteoak Road and Frear Drive.
Investigators then apparently ran a computer check on him, and found hat he had a revoked license. He was then pulled over. During the stop, Police say they found a smell of burnt marijuana, leading to a search of the vehicle, where officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun and 20 bags of heroin, weighing .3 grams.
Police say this then prompted the search of Brewah’s Carvel Drive home, where they found a box of .32 caliber ammunition. Brewah is reportedly prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition based on his previous criminal convictions.
After the searches, Brewah was charged with two counts of possession of firearm/ammunition by person prohibited, carry concealed deadly weapon, possession with intent to deliver controlled substance -heroin, possession of firearm during commission of felony, and driving while revoked. He is now being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $55,000 secured bond.
