field hockey out there this afternoon, but still a few games being played yeah the weather hasn’t exactly been cooperating for the past couple days, but they were able to get a few games in across the shore this afternoon.. just not as many as they would have liked. bennett’s field hockey team was looking to keep their winning streak going this afternoon, as they were back in action at home taking on st. michaels. and the clippers would come out firing early in this one off the corner, kayla wells sends the pass to the far post, and kelli moreno is there to slam it home for the 1st score of the game just minutes later and bennett on a break away.. and check out this shot by zoe sheller rockets that thing in home team up 2-nothing at the break second half, and looking for more as emma chandler gets inside and takes a shot, but julianna burns comes up with the great save for the saints clippers kept coming though off a corner here, wells this time calls her own number, and she sends that one home bennett gets the win, 3-0 the final and sticking with a little field hockey some good news coming out today for s-u’s squad with the release of this weeks coaches poll the sea gulls climbed 1 spot, coming in at number 5 in the country not that comes after they have been red hot to open the season.. going 5-1 so far, while posting 3 shut outs s-u will have a chance to try and win over a few more votes later on tonight when they return to work for another road game, this time over at johns hopkins on to the nfl.. and redskins fans may have finally got the news they wanted for the first 2 weeks of the season, washington has watched the number 1 reciever for the oppossing team go off. all while the skins never put josh norman.. one of the best corners in the league.. matched up against them it didn’t make any sense! well, washington finally came to their sense, and said this weekend, that norman will be matched up against o-b-j all day long.. which will make for one of the best matchups to watch over the weekend one guy you wont see on the field this weekend though, or anytime soon, will be adrian peterson the vikings star running back underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus suffered during last weekends game thats a huge blow to a team that had super bowl aspirations. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page
