Woodbridge Stuns DMA For Programs 2nd Playoff Win

The No. 7 Woodbridge football team made the trip up north to face No. 2 Delaware Military Academy and pulled off the huge upset 12-7. The Blue Raiders will now face top seeded St. Georges on Saturday.
The Blue Raiders would get the game started with a bang, as a kickoff return was brought back nearly 50 yards and set them up deep in the Seahawks territory. Woodbridge would then pound the ball down the field and cap it off with a short touchdown run off the left side by Kirby Williams. The point after would be blocked, but Woodbridge would grab a 6-0 lead. The lead would hold through the defensive battle the rest of the first quarter. Woodbridge’s defense would control the line of scrimmage led by their two dominate defensive ends, Shymere Vessels and Blaize Radford. The Seahawks would eventually break through though, as Jacob Hudson found Jeff Gillus for a 23 yard touchdown pass to the left side of the endzone. They would convert the point after to take a 7-6 lead into halftime. The defenses continued to play well in the second half and they would go to the final quarter still separated by just a point. There the Blue Raiders would take the lead for good after Troy Haynes found Bragg Davis for the go ahead score. The defense would do the rest as the Blue Raiders came up with a stop on 4th down to end the game and pull off the dramatic upset.
