Carper demands answers from Office of Veteran’s Affairs

Senator Tom Carper is now questioning the Office of Veterans Affairs after the Veteran’s Affairs Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that two employees misused their positions for personal benefit.

The OIG found in September that two high-ranking executives created new, higher paying positions for themselves, then used the VA’s relocation program to have them pay for their relocation expenses.

Now Carper is asking the VA how this was allowed to happen and what safeguards will be put in place to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
