Motorcyclists make donations for Toys for Tots

Toys collected on Sunday

Motorcyclists from all across Delmarva donated toys and raised money for children in need on Sunday.

It was all for a well known program called Toys for Tots.

The season for giving is almost here and everyone who helped out with today's event says it was a success.

The event started in Willards Sunday morning with bikers handing in their donations and ended at the American Legion Post in Sharptown.

Sunday's volunteers said they collected around 13,000 toys last year, and expect to get even more toys this year.

Frances Hearthway, a Volunteer for Toys for Tots, said, "The need already is greater than last year so we'll definitely need more toys because there's more kids that need toys."

Jeff Marritt, another Toys for Tots Volunteer, said, "This effort impacts the kids in Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset County so like Fran said, there's quite a need out there."
