HUD takes a tour around Salisbury

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, also known as HUD, took a tour around Salisbury on Friday.
The federal organization came down to get a better look at housing projects in the city.
Mayor Jake Day served as tour guide, showing off the city's recent efforts to bring more affordable housing to its residents.
Among the things Day showed off, the Housing First Project, which is a permanent housing project for homeless persons as well as the projects at Rivers Edge and Village of Hope.
Mayor Day is hoping HUD's visit will bring more insight on how Salisbury can become even better.
He said, "This is a person who has significant government resources at his disposal so we're excited to be able to talk with him and share with him the successes we've had but also to learn how we can expand those with the help of the federal government."
Mayor Day tells 47 ABC, they also discussed how they can better public and private partnerships around redevelopment and housing. Mayor Day says, the city's revitalization project was also brought up.
