Milford man charged with organized theft from department store

Police in Milford say they have arrested a department store employee, who let his friends take merchandise.

Milford Police say 19-year-old Luis Uribarri- Vasquez was an employee at Peebles department store. During October and November, Police say Uribarri- Vasquez allowed his friend to bring items to his register, but not actually complete the full transaction.

He would then apparently let his friend leave with the merchandise, without paying. Police say the two stole several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from the store.

On November 19, Uribarri- Vasquez was arrested, and charged with organized retail theft over $1,500, conspiracy 2nd degree, and falsifying business records. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.
