Giving back in a sweet way

Stacy Waller has been hard at work baking and decorating for Cookies 4 Christmas. Waller will be selling her holiday baked goods to give back to those in need this holiday season.

“I am a cookie baker and a cookie eater. So I always bake cookies for the holidays and I just came up with the idea of taking some of the things I do to the next notch kind of like and used by God given talent to help out.” says Waller.

Stacy has been baking both sugar and chocolate chip cookies out of scratch to raise money for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. The  program places trees in different stores and adorns them with tags that has people’s needs and gift wishes. Stacy is  hoping to raise enough money through her cookie sales to fulfill the needs of as many tags as possible.

Waller says, “Give all the proceeds to try to pull as many tickets or to try to help as many families as we can for the Christmas season.”

However, Waller is not doing all the baking on her own.

“I actually have a few good friends that when I ran this idea by them that are going to help me be like my little cookie elves that are prepared to help me fill these order,” says Waller

Her friends and family have been helping her get the word out of her cookie sale. She also has the help of her daughter Hailey, who has been helping her bake and decorate them, but most importantly taste test them and she says her mom’s cookies are the best.

Hailey Waller says her mom’s cookies are the best,”Because they have love in them.”

A box of six cookies are $12 each and Stacy will be taking cookie orders from today until next Saturday.  Anyone who is interested in placing their orders or helping her bake can reach her at Cookies4ChristmasWithLove@yahoo.com
