DSP investigating an armed robbery of a gas station

Troopers are investigating an armed robbery of a Valero gas station located in Dover.  The incident occurred around 6:04 a.m., Tuesday at the 1612 South DuPont Highway Valero gas station. 

According to police reports, a male suspect, armed with a knife entered the store and approached the 31-year-old female employee in a threatening manner.

The clerk was able to move away from the suspect as he grabbed numerous rolls of scratch off lottery tickets, as well as multiple packs of cigars.

The suspect then fled on foot and ran towards Rodney Village. The female employee was uninjured in this incident.

The alleged suspect was described as a black male, between 6’00”-6’02” tall, 165-185 lbs., wearing a grey and black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, carrying a black and tan camouflage backpack. He was also armed with an unknown type knife.
