Capacity limits lifted for fitness centers starting Friday, Planet Fitness says safety measures are in place to meet capacity

MARYLAND- Restaurants aren’t the only ones who are allowed to open up to 100 percent.

Capacity limits were also lifted for fitness centers at 5 p.m. Friday.

The Chief Operating Officer of PF Growth Partners, LLC said lifting capacity limits provides more opportunity for members and potential members to come back to the gym.

They also said that they’ll continue to keep safety measures in place, including increased cleaning efforts and mask wearing.

According to their COO, another plus they offer is that the size of their buildings allow for people to spread out.

“Again giving the feelings of high ceilings and big spaces inside and the ability to spread out, you’re not going to be in those environments where you would feel claustrophobic or too close together or that you would be at risk and that’s the one thing we are taking very seriously,” Justin Drummond, COO of PF Growth Partners, LLC , said.

We are told equipment is still socially distanced and they are doing touch less check in.

Drummond said while capacity limits are lifted it’s not just about bringing people in the gym, but keeping them healthy and safe at the same time.
