Coastal Bays receive C+ in report

A so-called “report card” from the Maryland Coastal Bays Program has been released.
According to the 2014 report, the Coastal Bays got a C+ which might seem like there was no improvement from the year before, since the grade they received in 2013 was the same.
The report apparently shows recovery in the Newport and Sinepuxent Bays, which was off-set by declines in Assawoman Bay. The program notes total nitrogen in the Isle of Wight, Sinepuxent, and Chincoteague Bays reportedly scored “good” to “excellent”.
Assawoman Bay, Newport Bay, and Saint Martin appeared to be “moderate” to “poor”.
Overall, dissolved oxygen scored “moderate” in all regions.
