Dec. 2 – Chandler’s Chance Cystinosis Palooza

A Georgetown family is hosting their third annual fundraiser to raise awareness for Cystinosis.
Clinton Moore from Georgetown De. son, Chandler, has a very rare disease called Cystinosis. There are only an estimated 2000 cases in the world with only 500 of them living in the United States. Chandler, is the only known case living in Delaware. This disease along with most rare diseases receive little to no federal funding to assist in research efforts. What money is available for research was raised by individual families that are also affected. Raising awareness and funds for a rare disease is extremely tough as most people tend to want to help the more common illness.
The fundraiser will be held on December 5th. It will be held at the Moore’s home 24062 Peterkins Road in Georgetown. There’s no entry fee, but they are asking people to donate what they can.
Anyone who would like more information is asked to contact Clinton Moore at 302-841-7603 or clintonmoore1@aol.com.
