Indians score big road upset in Bayside title rematch

The Wi-Hi Indians pulled out a huge win on the road on opening night, defeating the Kent County Trojans 83-75.

After falling behind in the first quarter, the Indians took a 14-12 lead on a 6-0 run, and finished off the quarter leading 18-15. Kent would feed off the home crowd and surge back to tie the game at 32-all at the half.

The Indians would come out surging in the third, taking a 48-37 lead with just under four minutes to go. Again the Trojans would pony up to go on a 16-10 run to close out the quarter, bringing the deficit to 58-53 heading into the fourth.

In the fourth, Wi-Hi would maintain a 3-5 point lead, before pulling away by 7 with 1:32 to go. The Indians were paced by senior forwards Jordan Brittingham (25 points) and Barry Gaines (23 points, 15 rebounds).
