Local Girl Scout gives back to community with cookie donation

DELAWARE – A young Girl Scout in Delaware recently decided to give back to her community.

The Beebe Medical Foundation took to Facebook to thank Mikaela, a 5th grader at Shields Elementary and part of Girl Scout Troop 701 in Lewes, for donating dozens of boxes to them on Thursday. Beebe says her troop sold more than 1400 boxes of cookies for the Girl Scouts this year. Mikaela had a number of people who wished to donate boxes, so she took all those boxes and gave them to Beebe.

We’re told they will use the donated cookies to supply the Be-WELL pantry wagon with special treats shared by the Beebe Healthcare frontline workers.
