Smyrna topples Sussex Tech in Georgetown

Caleb Matthews scored a team-high 16 points and two other Eagles finished in double figures as Smyrna defeated Sussex Tech 88-64 on Tuesday night in Georgetown.

Smyrna led 21-5 after one, and 54-17 at the break, outscoring Tech 33-12 in the second quarter. After an even third quarter, Smyrna would send the reserves in to finish the game. Brandon Palmer finished with a game-high 22 points for Tech in the loss. Every Smyrna player scored at least one point in the win, their first of the season.

Smyrna goes on to take on William Penn Thursday, while Tech visits rival Sussex Central.
