Hawks A Shell Of Themselves vs. Terps

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore basketball team hit the road Saturday and came up short against No. 6 Maryland 77-56. The Hawks fell to 1-9 on the year.
The Terps came out on fire to start, connecting on shots from the outside as well as scoring on the block. UMES though was up for the challenge. Dominique Elliott would put in work on the block, finishing with a game high 20 points, while controlling the temp of the game. Maryland then would go on a run at the midway point of the first half, powered by Rasheed Sulaimon’s passing. He finished the first half with 7 assists on his way to a career high 10 on the day. Then just before half, Derrico Peck came up with a steal, and took it the other way for a dunk as the Hawks were down just 6 at the break. Melo Trimble came out firing in the second half though, scoring 8 straight points as the lead quickly swelled to 20. UMES continued to battle but could never get back into the game.
The Hawks return to work next Friday when they travel to Old Dominion.
