Pocomoke moves ahead with restaurant bidding process

Pocomoke city leaders are looking to reopen a local favorite that has been shut down, temporarily.

The city has finished accepting bids from companies looking to take over Riverside Grill and now they'll begin interviewing the final candidates.

Interviews will begin next week.

City leaders, like Bobby Cowger, says they've owned the property for about five years and are looking forward to moving ahead with the process.

"We  received five proposals from different restaurateurs that have locations now. And all five are very good. They are excellent proposals. We will be doing individual interviews with those within the next week."

Cowger says the yearly lease on the Riverside Grill is about  $30,000 dollars per year.

Cowger is hoping the selection will be made soon so that the city can continue to make money off the property.
