Reports of a suspicious person end in arrest

On September 8, a deputy from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Troopers from the Maryland State Police, was able to respond to a vacant house for reports of a suspicious person.
According to the report, the deputy went to Payne Road, in North Dorchester, and found 33-year-old Tyrell Jerome Jones, of Federalsburg, when they arrived.
Jones was apparently sitting behind the wheel of a Lincoln, and as officers approached, they say they were able to see 2 baggies on the front seat with one containing cocaine, and the other, marijuana.
Jones was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, 2 counts of possession of marijuana, and trespassing on posted property.
Officials say he was released pending action by the District Court.
