Fatal pedestrian crash in Easton under investigation

The Easton Police department say, they are investigating the death of a 82-year-old Cambridge woman who was reportedly hit my a car.

Authorities say, they responded to reports of a pedestrian being hit at the intersection of Ocean Gateway and Dutchman’s Lane around 7:15 PM Saturday. According to reports, the victim identified as Harriett Woolford was hit while crossing Route 50. Police report states witnesses saw Woolford crossing against the Do Not Walk signal and that Route 50 had a green light for traffic.

Woolford was pronounced dead at the scene by Talbot County Paramedics.

West bound traffic on Ocean Gateway between the south end of the bypass and Dutchmans Lane was re-routed to the by-pass for about three hours while officers were on scene. Officials say this investigation is ongoing.
