Parkside Runs Past St. Joes By The Sea

The Parkside boys basketball team picked up another win on the season after they defeated St. Joes By The Sea 80-65 in the Governor’s Challenge. The Rams now return to regular season play.
Parkside would jump out to a small lead early on as Gary Briddell would score a couple times in transition, as well as come up with a few offensive rebounds and put backs down low. The Vikings would then fire right back, connecting on several long balls to cut Parkside’s lead to just 3 at the break. The Rams then used a huge second half run, as Raequan Williams scored 3 straight lay ups for 6 of his game high 23 points to open up a 20 point lead. St. Joes By The Sea then hit a couple more long balls to get back within striking distance. Once that happened, Tyrese Purnell would close the door, coming up with back to back buckets down low, including a and 1 put back on his way to a career high 20 points.
