Salisbury gym offers fitness classes for kids

One Salisbury gym is offering fitness classes for kids to promote a healthy lifestyle at a young age. Powerhouse Gym started teaching their S.W.E.A.T classes to children ages 6 to 12 years old. The one hour class is a mix of speed,weight,endurance , and agility exercises. All of these exercises are done in a playful way to make exercising fun.

Amy Evans, a group fitness instructor says, “Kids have a lot of energy so I believe getting them moving and getting their energy up helps then focus more so phys. ed and physical activity is really important for the kids.”

The classes will continue into the new year. Parents who are interested in signing their children up their children do not have to be members of the gym.
