DSP investigating crash that left one woman dead Wednesday evening after attempting to cross the road
GEORGETOWN, Del.-Delaware State Police are investigating a crash where a woman was killed while walking Wednesday evening.
Police said around 6:20 p.m., a 49-year-old woman, from Greenwood, was driving on North DuPont Blvd. when a 65-year-old woman from Georgetown was trying to cross the road.
We’re told the driver of the car was not able to stop in time and hit the woman who was walking.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her identification is pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
