Vehicle theft arrest in Millsboro

MILLSBORO Del. –  Police say a Rehoboth Beach man was arrested after he tried to steal a vehicle, with someone still inside.

Delaware State Police responded to the 25000 block of Banks Road around 5 o’clock Thursday night, for a report of someone trying to break into a vehicle in a private driveway.

Officials say, 32 year old Sean Caldwell, was about to leave the private property on Banks Road. The homeowner’s son was reportedly sitting inside the vehicle during the incident and called a family member who was inside the home.

Police say the family member confronted Caldwell and detained him until troopers arrived. We’re told Caldwell was taken into custody and charged with attempt to commit theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal trespass in the 3rd degree.

Caldwell is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on a $2,001 secured bond.
