Rally comes up short for Laurel as Delmar wins close one

The Delmar Wildcats placed five players in double-figures scoring to defeat bitter rival Laurel 65-63 Tuesday night.

The Wildcats were led by Shyheim Mitchell’s 20 points, while senior forwards Jeff Whitten and Dejour Brown scored 11 points a piece, respectively. Jacqual Bland scored a team-high 15 points for Laurel, knocking down 5 three pointers.

Delmar is back in action on Thursday when they host Woodbridge, while Laurel hosts a tough matchup with Milford on Friday.
