Pocomoke Earns Statement Win At Parkside

The Pocomoke boys basketball team earned a convincing road win Thursday night when they traveled to Salisbury and topped Parkside 63-42. The win improves the Warriors to 8-2, while the loss drops the Rams to 8-2.

Parkside would jump out to a quick lead led by Gary Briddell’s hot shooting. But Pocomoke would find their footing at the midway point of the first quarter, as Tyrone Matthews and Tyler Nixon would lead their team back> They would run the offense and Jerrick Johnson and Leander Roberts for some easy scores underneath. Parkside would then battle in the third quarter but watch as Pocomoke’s lead would grow to 8 headed to the 4th. There, the Warriors stepped up their defensive pressure and would blow the game wide open, allowing just 2 points in the final period on their way to the win.

Parkside returns to action Tuesday when they host Crisfield, while Pocomoke will travel to Bennett on Tuesday.
