UPDATE: Arrest made in Camden Waffle House robbery

Alfred L. Robinson, 51 of Camden, Del.

Police say they have made an arrest in connection with the Christmas Eve robbery of the Camden Waffle House restaurant.

Delaware State Police say on December 24 around 5:00 AM, a man armed with a handgun walked into the restaurant, and demanded money from two employees behind the counter. The suspect apparently left, with an undisclosed amount of cash. Neither employee was injured in the incident.

Troopers say during their investigation with the help of the Camden Police Department, they determined that 51-year-old Alfred Robinson, of Camden, as a suspect. Investigators say that there were similarities between this robbery and a robbery that happened at the Briar Park Shore Stop on South DuPont Highway, back on December 8.

Robinson was then arrested, and charged with robbery first degree, two counts of aggravated menacing, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. Camden Police reportedly also charged Robinson with robbery first degree, aggravated menacing, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

He was then reportedly ordered to be held on a $125,000 cash bond at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center.

The Waffle House was reportedly robbed on both Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day. DSP’s Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary E. Fournier, tells 47 ABC that Robinson is only facing charges for the Christmas Eve incident. Cpl. Fournier says “those are separate incidents and that investigation is still ongoing. He is only being charged with the Christmas Eve morning robbery of the Waffle House.”
